OUR STORY
The Birches Cattery is a small family run cattery, in the village of Irchester, situated in the east of Northamptonshire. Established in 2006, we pride ourselves on our excellent reputation. We have achieved 5 Star rating from the Borough Council of Wellingborough, which means we meet all the Higher Standards requirements of the DEFRA Regulations.
Our cattery consists of 14 luxury chalets, including our penthouse suite and garden suite, each with fully accessible interior and exterior sections. All chalets overlook the garden which attracts a variety of wildlife throughout the year. The cattery is fully heated during the colder months, in order to keep your cats toasty and warm. In addition it is air conditioned in the hotter months, to maintain a comfortable temperature all year round. Retractable blinds are fitted to the exterior areas of the cattery to provide extra shade on hot sunny days if needed.
We care for all cats as if they are our own. We stock a wide range of food in order to meet your cats individual needs. We also provide them with the highest quality kitty litter. We will gladly cater to specialist diets and can give medication when required.

CHALETS & GARDEN
CHALETS
We have 14 luxury pens including our Penthouse Suite and the Garden Suite. We take pride to ensure your cats can relax in a warm, safe and comfortable environment.
When our guests leave, the inside and outside areas of the pens along with associated equipment get thoroughly disinfected and deep cleaned from top to bottom, all carried out with cat friendly products.

Our Routine
Our daily routine consists of us visiting each cat first thing in the morning to provide fresh food, water and a clean environment and of course to make a fuss of them. We are generally out and about in the garden. Most cats will sit and watch what’s going on and what we are doing. Frequent checks are made during the day and evening to ensure all is well.
As you enter the main block, you will see that the first pen has been converted into a feeding station and the external section to this pen is used to store extra litter trays, poop scoops and cleansing products.
Medication
We happily look after cats who need medication, whether that be short or long term and we have become quite expert in persuading cats to take pills, whether they want to or not! Sometime we have to be as sneaky at the cat is, in order to achieve this. We also look after diabetic cats and give insulin injections as needed. There is no extra cost for this service, as the well being and care of the cat is paramount.

Terms
When booking your cat(s) in to stay with us here at Birches Cattery, you are agreeing to abide by our terms and conditions, as outlined below and as summarised on our booking form.
A signed booking form must be completed ahead of the cats first stay and updated for future stays with any changes as necessary.
A £40 non refundable & non transferable deposit per chalet is required for each booking.
The deposit must be paid within 14 days of the booking being made in order to confirm and secure the chalet(s).
If the deposit is not paid after 14 days, we will assume that the booking is no longer required and the chalet(s) will be released and made available to another customer.
A minimum of 4 weeks notice must be given to cancel the booking in order to avoid incurring any costs, or you will be liable to pay for the full cost of the stay.
Early collections will be charged for the full period of the stay originally booked.
All drop offs and collections must be within our opening hours.
In the case of illness or suspected illness, a vet will be consulted and if necessary called in to carry out such treatment as he/she considers necessary at the time, at my expense.
Whilst every care and precaution is taken, responsibility can only be accepted at the owner’s risk.
All payments are to be made by cash or cheque only. If writing a cheque, please make it payable to Mrs S Northover. We do not do internet banking, card payment, or bank transfers.
Remember
Your cat MUST be vaccinated against cat flu and enteritis, in order to board with us. Please show us the vaccination card when you drop your cat off.
You will also need to provide us with details of your cats latest flea and worming treatment, including the date treated and the brands used.
We are unable to accept unneutered toms over the age of 6 months.

The Garden Suite
Comprising of two individual bespoke chalets, with a range of high quality furnishing, fixtures and fittings, your cat(s) can enjoy an even more luxurious holiday with us here at Birches Cattery in our newly opened Garden Suite.
Accessed through its own tastefully decorated reception area, each chalet provides exceptionally spacious accommodation (meeting DEFRA sizing requirements for up to 4 cats). A mezzanine floor separates the private sleeping area from the large activity area, providing both indoor and outdoor access and ensuite facilities.
Within this environment, your cats can relax and listen to soothing music.
You can request the Garden Suite for your cat(s) stay with us and charges are above.

Prior to boarding, we ask you to complete and sign a booking form whilst gives your details, cats details, veterinary details, dates of vaccinations, dietary requirements and other relevant information. You will be given a copy of this form for your records and we will retain the original.
